About the position
An opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a well established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy's Johannesburg office (Rivonia).
Their services include engineering consulting, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management systems consulting, town planning and training.
The successful candidate will assist with the design, implementation and management of structural engineering projects within the building services sector.
Requirements:
- B.Sc.Eng, B.Eng or B.Tech in Civil/Structural Engineering with 12+ years’ experience.
- Professionally Registered Engineer with ECSA.
Key Competencies:
- Solid technical background in structural analysis, modelling, and hand calculations, ensuring sound, code compliant, and constructible designs across a range of materials and building types.
- Strong ability to conduct and lead site inspections, assess workmanship, and issue site instructions.
- Proven ability to take projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding junior engineers and technicians.
- Ability to integrate structural design elements with other engineering & architectural disciplines.
- Strong client communication & interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiating skills
- Excellent time management skills to juggle multiple concurrent projects without compromising quality.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD & structural modelling software e.g. Tekla, Prokon, Masterseries, Robot
