About the Opportunity
An established development-focused financial institution is seeking two Senior Specialists (Programme Managers) to drive the setup and delivery of a new Trading, Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance function. These roles form part of a pioneering business initiative aimed at diversifying revenue and introducing innovative trade-related financial solutions to the agricultural and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of trading, trade finance and supply chain finance product capabilities.
- Design and manage product processes, systems, and documentation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive system selection and integration, ensuring efficient transaction management and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Build and manage partnerships across suppliers, aggregators, and buyers to strengthen the organisation’s position in the trade finance ecosystem.
- Oversee pilot transactions, manage risk, and ensure operational readiness for full-scale rollout.
- Contribute to revenue diversification, growth, and the long-term establishment of the business unit.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: Honours degree in Commerce, Finance, Banking, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
- Preferred: Postgraduate qualification in Trade, Working Capital, or Supply Chain Finance.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in financial services, commercial banking, or development finance.
- Proven track record in trade finance, transactional banking, product development, or operations management.
- Exposure to agricultural value chains or co-operative/aggregator environments.
- Strong project management capability and experience implementing new business systems or financial products.
- Solid understanding of risk management, pricing, and financial modelling.
- Experience in managing partnerships and delivering commercially viable pilot programmes.
