  • Purpose of the Position: The Senior Specialist - Analytics and Insights is responsible for providing expert-level support in the development and management of reporting, analytics, and insights for an organization. This role involves analyzing data to identify trends, opportunities, and issues that can inform business decisions and drive growth. The Senior Specialist will also be responsible for the creation of dashboards and reports that provide a clear understanding of business performance and enable effective decision-making. In addition data modelling and mapping is a vital part of the role in order to enable reporting.
  • Tasks
  • Ensure adherence to departmental and company policies and rulesEnsure compliance to all South African IT legislation and governanceEnsure continuous improvement of standard operating [URL Removed] to the development and management of Service Level AgreementsEnsure adherence to Data Governance policies and procedures as well as POPIA and GDPR principals.
  • Gather and analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisionsDevelop and deliver reports that provide stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendationsCreate and maintain dashboards that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metricsWork with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure data accuracy and integrityCollaborate with other teams to integrate data from various sources and systemsIdentify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and analyticsStay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in reporting, analytics, and insights
  • Lead analytical and reporting delivery within [URL Removed] knowledge and practical experience with the analytics and insights [URL Removed] and contribute to development of architectural principals and [URL Removed] and coach junior analysts to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Qualifications Essential:A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent QualificationCompetency Certifications in Databricks, Azure, Data Analysis, and other technologies highly advantageous
  • Experience:6-10 years of experience gathering requirements and analysing dataExperience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikViewStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience working with cross-functional teamsProficiency in SQL, Python and other programming languages commonly used in data [URL Removed] Excel and PowerPoint skillsProficient in creating story lines and insights from analytical outputs.
