About the Role
In an interconnected world where security boundaries are constantly shifting, protecting our infrastructure requires forward-thinking expertise. We are looking for a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced security controls across our diverse network ecosystem-spanning mobile, fixed, satellite, cloud, and IoT environments.
This isn't a standard, siloed security role. You will play a pivotal part in securing next-generation infrastructure, mitigating enterprise-level risk, ensuring strict compliance, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who mentors the next generation of security talent.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Implementation: Support the rollout of robust cybersecurity strategies across all core, enterprise, and edge networks.
Technical Deliverables: Hands-on execution and delivery of highly technical security workstreams across diverse enterprise domains.
Risk & Compliance: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and ensure tight alignment with global standards and local regulations (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
Threat Detection & Monitoring: Enhance real-time threat detection capabilities by optimizing SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and NetFlow analysis.
Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a technical mentor, providing SME guidance and fostering growth among junior team members.
What We Are Looking For
Core Requirements:
Education: Matric / Grade 12 alongside a formal Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Experience: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in cybersecurity, specifically focusing on large-scale enterprise or IP networks.
Framework Mastery: Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
Power Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the natural capacity to collaborate seamlessly across cross-functional teams.
Highly Desirable (The Cherries on Top):
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
Prior experience navigating the unique security complexities of a telecoms environment or massive, multi-tenant enterprise architectures.
