About the position
Our client is looking for a highly accomplished Senior Software Developer to lead the evolution of a mission-critical software platform. This opportunity will suit someone with exceptional backend development expertise, strong architectural thinking, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Rewrite and optimise an existing C++ application using the most appropriate modern programming language.
- Develop robust APIs and support migration towards a microservices environment.
- Extract and redesign business logic currently embedded within PostgreSQL stored procedures.
- Develop solutions for MIME email processing, content injection and message formatting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps and product stakeholders.
- Review software architecture and recommend performance improvements.
- Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
- 10+ years' experience in software engineering.
- Strong C++ comprehension skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Rust, Go, Java, C#, or another high-performance language.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs and SQL development.
- Exposure to Azure Kubernetes, Docker and cloud-native development.
- Understanding of software security and scalable system design.
- Excellent analytical, communication and leadership abilities.
