About the position
Postion Summary:
The Senior Quality Assurance Officer shall lead the SARAO Quality team, comprising quality assurance and quality control personnel, and be responsible for delivery of key quality related objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish SARAO Quality Management System (QMS) and proceduresLead the quality function and the quality performance plan, including transformation initiatives
- Implement all QMS requirements as prescribed in the Quality Manual and QMS procedures
- Implement quality related document management through the SARAO Configuration Management and Information Management systems
- Lead auditing for internal QM audits, preparation of audit reports and close out
- Develop, implement, review and maintain approved quality processes, including QA Plans and procedures, ISO requirements and procedures, and improve as per ISO specifications
- Manage the development, evolutions and delivery of the different components to guarantee the availability of the Management system to all SARAO staff
- Maintain certification accreditation and ensure ongoing engagement and follow-up on specific engineering issues with relevant managers
- Ensure that customer requirements are properly taken into consideration and fulfilled
- Ensure that tender and bids for projects are appropriately managed (organization, process, competences, …), and that the products and services delivered meet the contract and the standard of quality
- Monitoring of non-conformance, with relevant trend analysis (if possible) and improvement (if needed)
- Participation in design reviews and provision of relevant input related to design, materials, workmanship, fabrication and verification processes, and all other characteristics that could degrade product system quality
- Issuing and Actioning of reports, QA Audits, Engineering Changes, Deviations / Waivers follow-ups
- Inspection of deliverables and auditing of build histories to verify test and as-built data and drawing approvals
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7
Minimum Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Quality Management NQF Level 7
- Certification in Quality MS ISO 9001 internal auditor certificateLead Auditor certificate (compulsory)
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years’ Quality Management experience in a Manufacturing and Operations environment
Knowledge:
- Quality Assurance, Quality Management, customer satisfaction survey and Quality Auditing, in either Projects, Product development, Maintenance and Services
- Knowledge of ISO International Standards (Environmental, Quality, Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)Relevant experience in driving the establishment of processes and procedures for inspection, acceptable testing, verification of mechanical, electrical, electronic or software products
- Knowledge of change control managementQuality advice during bid processes for all the stages required
