About the position
My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis.
IT / FINANCE
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Formal Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2, AMP, MSP)
- Relevant Postgraduate qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Project Management role managing complex IT or business-critical projects
- Proven experience leading cross-functional and large-scale project teams
- Strong background in multi-method project delivery (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Experience engaging with executive-level stakeholders and board-level reporting
- Exposure to Blue Yonder or other supply chain management systems
- Experience in retail or FMCG environments
- Must be comfortable working on-site and managing multiple concurrent projects
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and deliver multiple IT projects on time, within scope and budget
- Define clear project objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines
- Coordinate and manage resources, including internal teams and external vendors
- Engage with executive stakeholders to manage expectations and project outcomes
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks proactively
- Prepare and maintain project documentation and progress reports
- Manage project governance, budgets, and compliance requirements
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify process improvements
