About the position

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis.

IT/ Finances

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) experience - essential
• IT Degree or Diploma
• Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)
• 10+ years' IT industry experience, with at least 5 years in software development
• Strong knowledge of system development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience in Financial Services/Insurance (advantageous)
• Proven stakeholder management experience (local and offshore)
• Solid experience with Agile delivery and Scrum methodology
• Proficient in JIRA and Confluence project tools

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans including scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets
• Lead teams to execute projects effectively, ensuring milestones are met
• Monitor project progress, report on risks, and apply corrective measures
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders (internal and external)
• Communicate progress, risks, and issues clearly and promptly
• Manage expectations to ensure alignment with project objectives
• Allocate and manage resources across projects
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Proactively manage issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure deliverables meet required standards and expectations
• Implement quality assurance practices
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Provide guidance, motivation, and support to project teams
• Encourage collaboration and a positive team environment
• Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve processes
