About the position
Introduction:
PeopleSolved is currently recruiting for a Senior Programme Manager, for a 3-month contract opportunity - with possible extensions.
Our client is one of SA's leading retailers.
The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex, cross-functional programmes that align with the organizations strategic goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define programme scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Manage interdependencies between projects and ensure effective resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain detailed programme plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes across the programme lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and direction to project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Ensure effective communication and reporting to executive sponsors and governance boards.
- Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery methodologies and tools.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in programme and project management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stream programmes in a matrixed environment.
- Strong knowledge of programme management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PMI, Agile, PRINCE2).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
- Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and business cases.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity).
- Experience in change management and organizational transformation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as PgMP, MSP, PMP, or SAFe.
- Experience in sectors such as finance, retail,
- Familiarity with digital transformation, cloud migration, or ERP implementations.
