Senior Professional Nurse Critical Care

This position is suited to an experienced Critical Care Nurse who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentoring colleagues, and delivering exceptional patient care within a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Coordinate and supervise daily clinical activities within the unit.
• Mentor, support, and guide junior nursing staff and students.
• Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changing clinical conditions.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, quality assurance, and clinical governance standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in General Nursing
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Professional Nurse within a hospital environment.
• Proven clinical competence in a Critical Care setting.
• Sound knowledge of clinical governance, infection prevention, and patient safety principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
