About the position
Introduction
Vacancy: Senior Procurement Specialist
Location: Springs, Gauteng
Main job purpose:
To ensure operational supplier management and control over domestic purchases and imports across PFG Building Glass. Acquire goods & services in the most compliant, efficient and cost-effective manner in order to ensure continuity of supply, minimize risk and maintain inventory levels, reducing costs and regulating compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives.
- Drive and implement commodity strategies and negotiate PFG Building Glass contracts and SLA's to maximize savings.
- Achieve requisite BBBEE Preferential Procurement in order to sustain customer base.
- Manage the procurement and coordinate the receipt of domestic orders and importation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, tracking shipments, and communicating with suppliers and customs brokers.
- To ensure that all procurement and import processes are adhered to in line with the Company's Procurement Policies & Procedures and in compliance with SARS Legislative requirements.
- Achieve procurement cost reduction and savings by conducting standard RFQ /Tender processes and ensuring that imports across PFG Building Glass are procured in the most cost effective and efficient manner, including freight and forwarding.
- Timeously convert, track, receive and cost Domestic and Import orders in order to provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports to Line Management for effective decision making.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and renegotiate supplier payment terms to enable better cash flow within the company.
- Benchmarking / Tender and re-evaluating sourcing of the domestic and import supply chain.
- Minimize risk by ensuring continuity of supply of specified products and monitor supplier performance.
- Directing/Leading direct reports under area of responsibility -KPIs.
- Ad hoc procurement activities/General administrative tasks.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Critical job requirements:
Qualification(s):
- Grade 12.
- Diploma/Degree in Logistic or Supply Chain Management.
Knowledge:
- Manufacturing, Engineering, Operational or FMCG environment experience in a Manufacturing or Operational Environment
- Import Management.
