About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Representative to join their procurement team.
This role is responsible for managing indirect procurement activities, developing supplier relationships, executing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and driving cost-saving initiatives while ensuring security of supply.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supplier performance management, procurement process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration within a chemical manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 5–7 years' experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing.
- Experience procuring raw materials.
- Industry experience within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and procurement systems experience.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure high-quality indirect materials and services in line with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating favourable commercial agreements.
- Execute sourcing strategies and cost-saving initiatives across assigned procurement categories.
- Manage supplier performance, service levels, and quality issues.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of procured materials.
- Monitor supplier contracts, maintain contract compliance, and manage contract renewals.
- Identify and approve alternative suppliers, materials, and sourcing opportunities.
- Analyse procurement data, monitor spend, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support procurement risk management and ensure continuity of supply.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement requirements and specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate procurement reporting, savings tracking, and contract documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes and supplier performance
