About the position
Looking for technical challenge and hands-on impact? This role delivers both. Is this you? What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Where you'll be doing it What you'll need What you'll get How to apply
You're results-driven, technically sharp, and eager to see your engineering work translate into real-world impact. You're methodical, self-motivated, and thrive under pressure. You're curious, committed to learning and development, and enjoy working with others to solve complex challenges. If you enjoy variety in your work, from office-based design to on-site troubleshooting, you'll feel right at home here.
You'll lead the design, specification, and implementation of membrane-based filtration systems tailored to mining and metallurgical processes. This includes developing process flow diagrams, mass balance calculations, and sizing equipment such as pumps and membranes. You'll run pilot plant trials, support client-facing technical proposals, and oversee site commissioning and optimisation. From liaising with EPCs and mining clients to mentoring junior engineers, your role spans the full lifecycle of filtration projects with real field impact.
Our client is a well-established engineering business focused on delivering customised membrane filtration solutions across Southern Africa. With a strong track record in mining and process water treatment, they foster a team culture of innovation, shared learning, and technical excellence. Their flexible environment offers a mix of office, remote, and field-based work, and they're serious about long-term career growth.
You'll hold a BEng/BSc in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering with at least 3 years' experience in process or filtration engineering within the mining sector. You're comfortable working with membrane technologies (MF, UF, NF, RO), system sizing, and field testing. A strong foundation in process modelling, technical documentation, and the ability to travel for site support is essential.
You'll be part of a passionate and forward-thinking team, with opportunities for hands-on involvement and meaningful project ownership. You'll receive a market-related salary, company contribution towards your provident fund, a performance bonus, and all the tools you need to succeed. Mentorship, professional development, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies come standard.
