Senior Power Engineer

About the position

Key Responsibilities:
? Develop requirements, investigations, information and other data
for technical designs and trade of studies
? Direct and manage a project to completion within performance
management baselines (scope, schedule, cost, resources and
quality)
? Ensure contractors designs and installations comply with the
organisation and statutory requirements
? Ensure site power operations complies with the organisation's
technical and quality requirements
? Ensure the quality of power received from Eskom meets the
Electricity Supply Agreement conditions in place
? Contribute towards the graduate training program and mentor
junior employees and site team
Key Requirements:
Qualification:
? B.Tech Electrical plus 10+ years relevant experience OR
? B.Eng Electrical plus 9+ years relevant experience OR
? [URL Removed] Electrical plus 7+ years relevant experience OR
? Ph.D Electrical plus 5+ years relevant experience OR
Experience:
? Preferably come from a consulting engineering background;

? Previous experience on multi-disciplinary projects (Conceptual
Stage to Construction Close-out);
? Held position of responsibility and accountable for designs and
project delivery;
? Experienced with complete project lifecycle from inception to
close-out
? Experience in operations and maintenance of electricity
distribution systems
Knowledge:
? Design and operation of power generation and distribution
systems
? Project management processes
? System engineering best practices
? Working knowledge of built environment contracts especially NEC
? Knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations
? Extensive technical knowledge and experience related radio
astronomy infrastructure projects
