A well established organisation is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to take ownership of a high volume payroll function processing over 1000+ monthly salaries, within a structured and governance driven environment.
Only candidates with strong, hands on Sage 300 People experience will be considered. The role includes ownership of payroll processing, system configuration, reconciliations and governance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
- Completed Degree or Diploma in Payroll, HR, Finance or Accounting
- 5 to 8 years payroll experience
- 3 to 5 years hands on Sage 300 People experience non negotiable
- Experience processing payroll for medium to large organisations (1000+ monthly salaries)
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and SARS submissions
- Advanced Sage 300 People payroll configuration knowledge
- Strong Excel skills including pivots and lookups
- Sound understanding of payroll GL integration and reconciliations
- Strong governance mindset and commitment to compliance
The Role:
- Full end to end payroll processing on Sage 300 People
- Capture, validate and process payroll inputs including changes, overtime, deductions and leave
- Perform pre processing checks, validations and variance reporting
- Reconcile payroll control totals, bank files and GL postings
- Manage EMP201, EMP501 and IRP5 submissions
- Ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL and BCEA requirements
- Maintain system configurations including earning codes, leave rules and GL mappings
- Support ESS functionality and system controls
- Provide payroll reporting and audit support
- Drive payroll process improvements and support junior payroll staff
This role is suited to a detail driven payroll specialist who is confident operating Sage 300 People at an advanced level, managing payroll governance and ensuring full statutory compliance in a fast paced business environment.
