About the position
Our client, a highly reputable multi-disciplinary firm of consulting engineers, is seeking an experienced Senior Pavement Engineer to lead and deliver pavement engineering components of multidisciplinary transportation and civil infrastructure projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle - from planning and feasibility through detailed design, tender documentation, construction support, and project close-out.
The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership in pavement engineering, mentor project teams, engage with clients and authorities, ensure compliance with South African standards, and contribute to commercially sound project delivery.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- BEng / BSc (Civil Engineering) or equivalent (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
- Professional registration with ECSA as a [URL Removed]
- Valid South African driver's licence
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years' post-graduate experience in pavement engineering.
- Proven experience delivering pavement projects from feasibility through construction.
- Experience working with provincial road departments and municipal authorities.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of pavement design methodologies and rehabilitation techniques.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in pavement design and analysis tools.
- Excellent technical report writing and specification development skills.
- Strong verbal communication and client-facing presentation abilities.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
