About the position
Summary of Role
We are seeking highly skilled Senior Network Engineers to be based onsite, providing Tier 2/3 technical support and augmenting the current permanent support team. The role will primarily focus on first-line support call resolution, while also contributing to network projects, design, implementation, and operations.
The successful candidates will play a key role in managing and supporting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Cisco ACI data centre environments, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2/3 network support and troubleshoot complex incidents.
- Support 1st line service desk calls and ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in network projects, including design, deployment, and upgrades.
- Perform configuration, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Manage and support Cisco ACI environments.
- Assist in network security implementation and monitoring.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Perform network performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support business and IT objectives.
RequirementsQualifications
- Matric and Tertiary Qualification
- Active Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Data Centre (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5 years' practical experience in a similar role.
- 5 years Network Management Service (Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, Cisco Nexus Dashboard Data Centre Security
- Wireless certification (advantageous).
Strong experience in:
- Network Virtualization
- Automation and Orchestration
- Develop and update technical standards/guides documents;
- Network virtualization, Automation, Orchestration, and Data Centre Security
- Proven experience in enterprise network design and operations.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI environments.
- Network Management Tools
- Cisco Prime
- Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)
- Cisco Nexus Dashboard
Minimum Skills Requirement:
- Active Certified CCIE (Data Centre) with a minimum of five (5) years practical experience. (Wireless certification an added advantage);
- Develop and update technical standards/guides documents;
- Network virtualization, Automation, Orchestration, and Data Centre Security
- Five (5) years Network Management Service (Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, Cisco Nexus Dashboard) practical working knowledge and support skills.
