About the position
We are seeking an experienced x2 Senior Metadata Management Specialists to lead the development and implementation of robust metadata practices in support of the Enterprise Data Strategy. The objective of this role is to establish and maintain a centralized, consistent, and accessible metadata management framework across key projects, enabling accurate and meaningful analytics.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement metadata management framework.
- Define metadata categories for the project, business metadata, technical metadata, and operational metadata.
- Create and maintain centralised metadata catalogue to store and manage metadata for the data assets within the project.
- Ensure the catalogue is easily accessible and searchable for end-users
- Establish data lineage to track the flow of data from source to destination.
- Document data transformation, data integrations processes, and dependencies.
- Implement processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of metadata.
- Conduct regular metadata quality assessments and audits on the project.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to gather and validate metadata.
- Provide training and support to users on metadata management tools and practices.
Your expertise:
- Proven experience in metadata management, data governance, or enterprise data architecture
- Strong understanding of business, technical, and operational metadata
- Experience with metadata cataloguing tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Azure Purview)
- Expertise in data lineage, data integration, and data quality frameworks
- Solid knowledge of data management standards and frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK)
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data transformation, and integration pipelines
- Ability to conduct metadata quality assessments and audits
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills (data stewards, data owners, IT, business)
- Experience in training and supporting end-users on metadata practices and tools
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills
Qualifications required:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field
