About the position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Broker Relationship Management:

  • Develop and manage relationships with strategic brokers.

  • Ensure effective two-way communication and engagement strategies.
  • Set clear objectives and performance measures for Broker Consultants and Managers.
  • Maintain high levels of broker satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Operations & Performance Management:
  • Drive the implementation of business plans and operational strategies.
  • Ensure efficiency through continuous review and process improvement.
  • Monitor complaints and enforce compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Manage performance, set objectives, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Leadership & Capability Building
  • Inspire and lead a high-performance team culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop talent in line with organizational goals.
  • Promote employee engagement and accountability.
  • Business Development & Growth
  • Grow market share through broker acquisition and development.
  • Monitor competitor activities and propose improvements.
  • Align broker strategy with the broader sales vision.
  • Financial Management
  • Develop and manage budgets effectively.
  • Achieve cost per lead/sale targets and monitor profitability.
  • Ensure financial performance aligns with organizational goals.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound understanding of broker models and regulatory frameworks

Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
  • 3-year diploma/degree in Business Management or Marketing (essential)
  • Regulatory Examination and FAIS accreditation (essential)

Experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience in the short-term insurance industry, with solid exposure to commercial insurance.
  • Proven ability to manage broker relationships and deliver on strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing binder and outsource agreements.
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial role overseeing broker teams.
