About the position

A well-established plastics, masterbatch and additives manufacturer requires the above to establish, develop and maintain business relationships with senior key accounts within a variety of different industries.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Minimum matric is essential.
  • A tertiary qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience working as a Key Account Manager or related role selling masterbatch, additives and related raw materials etc into the plastics and related manufacturing industries is essential.
  • An understanding of plastic raw materials and the associated conversion processes is essential.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite applications and CRM Software.
  • Must have good negotiation skills.
  • Must have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Must have good problem-solving ability.
  • Must be highly driven and results-orientated.
  • Must be able to work both independently and or within a team environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing key accounts within the masterbatch and additives industry handling end applications such as sheet/film extrusion, blow moulding, injection moulding, coating, multifilament yarn spinning and staple fibre, PVC etc for manufacturing companies.
  • Managing key accounts promoting pet masterbatch to pet blow, pro-form closures to the plastics converting manufacturing industry.
  • Assisting and overseeing trials at blow moulding and extrusion customers.
  • Implementing key account plans and strategies to ensure sales targets and objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Managing and delivering on technical queries with regard to existing and new products.
  • Monitoring market developments in order to identify and assess potential new customers and opportunities.
  • Building upmarket and competition knowledge by analysing market trends.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Implementing volumes and pricing objectives agreed with key account customers.
  • Effectively implementing price increases and maintaining monthly or quarterly price lists for customers. 

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
