About the Role
An established Managed Services Provider (MSP) is seeking a hands-on Senior IT Technician to join its technical team. This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who enjoys working across multiple client environments, solving complex technical issues, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
The successful candidate will provide both proactive maintenance and reactive support across desktop, server, cloud, and network environments while delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, migrate, and upgrade Windows Server environments.
- Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, organisational units, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Configure, monitor, and test backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and licensing.
- Provide advanced desktop and end-user support across Windows environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware issues, including RAM, storage, and peripheral upgrades.
- Monitor client environments using remote management and monitoring tools.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and client records.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical staff where required.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT support and systems administration experience.
- Strong Windows Server administration experience [Phone Number Removed];).
- Solid Active Directory administration skills.
- Proven experience with server migrations and domain migrations.
- Experience implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
- Microsoft 365 administration experience.
- Strong desktop support and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Hardware diagnostics, upgrades, and repairs.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and general networking principles.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, patch management, and IT security best practices.
Preferred Experience
- Linux backup solutions and administration.
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with RMM platforms.
- Firewall technologies.
- Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
- VoIP environments.

- Own reliable transport.
- Based in, or able to commute to Gqeberha.
- Willingness to travel between client sites.
- Available for occasional after-hours support and maintenance.
