Senior IT Technician – IP Surveillance (CPT Onsite)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

A large-scale Security Specialist seeks an experienced Senior IT Technician to fill a hands-on role where you will support and maintain a large-scale IP Surveillance environment consisting of Axis cameras and Milestone XProtect VMS. You will manage and execute the site maintenance programme while assisting with projects and maintaining and troubleshooting IP surveillance infrastructure. As part of the company culture, technical staff are rotated across sites approximately every two years. The successful incumbent will possess a strong professional presence, adaptability, and a willingness to learn with at least 2 years’ experience with IP camera systems (any brand), experience with Axis cameras & Milestone XProtect will prove beneficial and have a strong understanding of installation, configuration, and maintenance.

 

DUTIES:

• Manage and execute the site maintenance programme.
• Work closely with the Onsite Technician under him.
• Maintain and troubleshoot IP surveillance infrastructure.
• Engage with the client professionally and effectively.
• Assist with and manage on-site projects.
• Provide reporting and documentation.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

IP Cameras -

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with IP camera systems (any brand).
• Experience with Axis cameras advantageous.
• Strong understanding of installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Video Management Systems -

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with any VMS.
• Experience with Milestone XProtect is highly advantageous.

Networking -

• Solid understanding of networking principles, including fibre infrastructure.

Servers & Systems -

• Experience with Dell servers.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Server and Active Directory.

Software -

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with software installation and maintenance.

Project & Client Management -

• Ability to manage small to medium site projects.
• Strong communication skills.
• Report writing capability.

Language Requirements -

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Afrikaans advantageous.

 

Advantageous -

• Axis and/or Milestone Certifications (not required but beneficial).
