About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
A leading global full-service commercial bank, providing corporate, personal, and investment banking, wealth management, and treasury services, is seeking a Senior IT Manager to oversee and ensure the effective operation of all Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) functions. This role is responsible for maintaining full functionality and compliance, while managing services within legal, regulatory, and budgetary frameworks.
DUTIES:
Business Continuity Management
- Ensure resilience and continuity of ITSM environment through planning, testing, and recovery.
- Conduct annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and align BCM plans.
- Perform regular disaster recovery (DR) testing.
- Monitor and maintain primary site resilience with redundancy and high availability.
Information Security & Infrastructure Enhancement
- Manage user access control and segregation of duties.
- Limit external parties' access appropriately.
- Perform weekly server checks, anti-virus updates, and vulnerability assessments.
- Remediate vulnerabilities through regular patch management.
- Conduct annual threat assessments and manage data classification and protection.
- Ensure IT infrastructure health, capacity, and compliance with procurement policies.
Business Intelligence, Application Development & Management
- Document and manage all system change requests and updates.
- Follow ITSM project lifecycle for changes, fixes, and upgrades.
- Ensure software licensing compliance.
- Automate manual processes and improve reporting accuracy.
- Analyse and evaluate data from various sources to enhance decision-making.
Support and Services
- Manage ITSM support tickets and documentation.
- Complete daily SOD tasks and AML-related jobs.
- Provide timely IT support and escalate issues when needed.
- Conduct regular staff training on security awareness.
Internal Management
- Align ITSM goals with branch strategy and define resource plans.
- Manage IT risks, controls, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain vendor management processes, contract monitoring, and BEE compliance.
- Remediate audit findings promptly and manage IT fixed assets effectively.
REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Qualifications
- Matric — Essential
- Degree in Computer Science/Information Science — Essential
- Degree in Cyber Security — Desirable
