About the position
Job Description:
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the setup, configuration, support, and
maintenance of our client’s hybrid infrastructure environment, which includes on-premises and cloud
based servers, storage, and network switches. The role ensures optimal performance, security, and
availability of infrastructure services and supports continuous improvement through upgrades, patching,
and documentation.
Responsibilities:
Hybrid Infrastructure Operations
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Manage HP Synergy blade servers and associated storage technologies.
- Administer Hyper-V clusters and failover configurations for Microsoft SQL Server.
- Perform regular patching, firmware updates, and server upgrades in line with the company’s IT standards.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to ensure high availability.
Network Infrastructure
- Configure and maintain HP/Aruba network switches and LAN/WAN/VPN connectivity.
- Support perimeter security and internal network segmentation.
- Configuration and management of Azure Virtual Networks (VNets)
- Implementation of Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Monitoring of Azure network connectivity, performance, and availability
- Integration with on-prem infrastructure via VPN and ExpressRoute
- Troubleshooting and optimization of hybrid network routing
- Collaborate with Security teams to ensure network compliance and resilience.
Internet Connectivity
- LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure management
- ISP coordination and performance optimization
- Network monitoring and proactive issue resolution
- Alignment with hybrid cloud and continuity strategies
IP Telephony
- IP telephony and VoIP system administration
- Integration with Microsoft Teams and collaboration platforms
- Hardware/software support for telephony infrastructure
- Documentation of telephony architecture and service providers
Cloud Integration
- Support integration between on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure services.
- Administer Azure AD, DNS, and Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online and Remote Desktop Services.
- Assist in cloud migration and optimization initiatives.
Backup and Recovery
- Implement and manage VEEAM backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Conduct regular backup validation and recovery testing.
- Lead Disaster Recovery Test Initiatives for the company.
Support and Escalation
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for infrastructure-related incidents.
- Participate in standby and after-hours escalation support.
- Document root cause analysis and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate technical documentation including SOPs, topology diagrams, and configuration logs.
- Report on system health, capacity, and risk posture to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Collaboration and Mentorship
- Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager and other engineers to align with the company’s IT strategy.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.

Minimum requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology or related fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization, and networking.
- Experience with HP Servers, Switches, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure technologies.
- Familiarity with ITSM practices (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Proficiency in technical documentation and system architecture.
- Networking fundamentals and Administration.
- Documentation/Technical Authoring
- Knowledge of Systems Architecture.
- ITIL certification advantageous.
- HP Networking Certifications
- Network Professional (ACNP)) will be advantageous.
- Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305) will be advantageous.
- Linux Certifications (e.g., LPIC-1, RHCSA) will be advantageous.
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP (as complementary networking knowledge) will be advantageous.
