About the position
We’re on the hunt for a strategic, data-driven Senior Inventory Analyst / Stock Controller to take ownership of the end-to-end inventory processes within our fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is not a traditional stock controller role — this is a critical business function, ideal for someone with a deep understanding of stock flow, business performance, and process optimisation.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that stock doesn’t consume profit unnecessarily. You’ll work cross-functionally to identify risks, inefficiencies, and losses, and proactively implement solutions. You must work independently with complex data – no relying on IT to interpret it for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and optimise inventory flow, usage, and holding across all production points.
- Use tools like Power BI, DAX, and MS Queries to extract insights and report on stock performance.
- Monitor and improve stock turns, ageing, and excess inventory risks.
- Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to guide buying and forecasting decisions.
- Drive process improvements to ensure stock is aligned to demand, avoiding loss through overstocking or obsolescence.
- Present clear, actionable reports and insights to management to support business decisions.
- Own and refine the stock reporting processes, proactively addressing inefficiencies.
- Provide input into strategic planning, budgeting, and operational execution.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business Management, BCom, Supply Chain, Strategic Management or similar.
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a senior inventory / stock control / supply chain analyst role.
- Manufacturing industry experience is essential – please do not apply without it.
- Advanced Power BI, DAX, MS Queries and Excel skills.
- Strong business acumen – you understand how poor stock decisions impact profitability.
- Exceptional ability to work with data – must be able to extract, interpret, and act without needing IT assistance.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly and influence senior stakeholders.
- A proven track record of reducing stock losses and improving inventory flow.
Who You Are:
- A business-minded analyst who understands operations, not just numbers.
- Proactive, solutions-driven and results-focused.
- Confident working across departments and influencing change.
Desired Skills:
- Data Analyst
- Stock Controller
- Inventory Analyst
