About the position
Postion Summary:
The NRF seeks to appoint Senior Internal Auditor: Quality Assurance Research and Development who will be responsible for evaluating and improving the organization's internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic support and leadership to the HoIA by collaborating with the HoIA in developing an audit charter, audit methodologies, three-year audit plan, annual audit plan, considering combined assurance activities and resources available
- Evaluate strategic plans, risk registers, and other supporting documentation to develop a comprehensive audit universe
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of internal audit methodologies, policies and procedures
- Develop, implement, monitor and review the effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Improvement Programme
- Develop, implement, and manage a robust and effective Quality Assurance Improvement Programme
- (QAIP) framework in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements of Internal Audit
- Establish and maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures for internal audit processes and practices
- Establish protocols for self-assessments, peer reviews, and compliance with professional standards
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal audit activities, including compliance with audit methodologies and standards

- Lead and conduct quality assurance reviews of internal audit processes and engagements
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to audit teamsMaintain effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders
- Actively participate in relevant structures (relevant professional bodies inside and outside the NRF)
- Perform any delegated task by the HoIA with regards to combined assurance
- Provide continuous support, guidance and mentoring to auditors, fostering their professional development and performance
- Co-ordinate and support engagement with Co-source partners of the IA function to ensure timely and effective delivery of services
- Assist the HoIA to Compile the department’s budget requirements of the department
- Co-ordinate and manage the procurement of goods and services for the department
- Ensure compliance with the SCM policies and treasury regulations
- Identify emerging issues and best practices for consideration by the NRF
- Identify tools of the trade (IA tools, data analytics, AI, cyber etc) applicable to the NRF
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7
Minimum Experience:
- Advanced Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field
- NQF Level 7 Postgraduate qualification in auditing/Risk management/ Business/Finance NQF level 8 is an advantage
