About the position
Our client is looking for an Infrastructure & End-User Computing Specialist to design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure and end-user computing environments. This role involves engaging with vendors, suppliers, and business partners to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions that align with the organisation's technology roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Analyse business/user requirements and implement effective IT solutions.
- Build, optimise, and deploy infrastructure aligned with security, compliance, and scalability best practices.
- Collaborate with IT architects, vendors, and partners on infrastructure design and implementation.
- Maintain infrastructure environments through automation, configuration management, and continuous optimisation.
- Provide 3rd-level support for critical infrastructure issues and coach support teams.
- Ensure compliance across software, licensing, and information security standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies to drive innovation and improve services.
Required experience
Qualifications
- Minimum: Grade 12 + relevant IT certification (MCP/MCSE, Azure, AWS, SCCM, Intune).
- Ideal: Degree in IT (B.Sc, B.Eng) with certifications in Power Apps, Power BI, Exchange, O365, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong background in end-user computing, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), Microsoft 365 services, SCCM & Intune.
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Knowledge of identity & access management, AD/EntraID, conditional access, and MFA.
- Experience in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, JavaScript).
- Exposure to networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, AV systems).
- Advantage: SQL, APIs, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus.
Experience
- 5+ years supporting and implementing enterprise end-user hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- (Ideal) 5+ years with cloud-connected end-user platforms using automation & Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
