Our client, a leading FMCG manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Senior Group Finance Officer to support the Chief Financial Officer in ensuring effective financial management across the Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for group financial reporting, consolidations, governance, financial controls, compliance, strategic financial planning, and supporting business decision-making across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Group financial reports.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with Group accounting standards.
- Maintain strong financial controls, accounting systems, and governance processes across the business.
- Review divisional financial submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Coordinate the year-end external audit process and manage audit requirements.
- Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial analysis, business cases, investment evaluations, and strategic financial reports.
- Analyse budgets, forecasts, variances, margins, pricing trends, and overall financial performance.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives and provide commercial financial insights to management.
- Monitor compliance with financial procedures across all operating divisions.
- Work closely with IT to optimise ERP and financial systems.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance staff while promoting continuous improvement and best financial practices.
- Prepare executive reports, presentations, and financial recommendations for senior management and the Chief Financial Officer.
- Support the delivery of the organisation's long-term financial strategy.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CA(SA) qualification is essential.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Finance.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Group Finance, Consolidations, or Senior Financial Accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation experience.
- Experience working with ERP financial systems is essential.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, financial governance, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
