About the position
Purpose of the Position
Location: Lichtenburg, North West
The Senior Grain Trader will be responsible for overseeing grain transactions, managing hedging activities, and advising clients on hedging and pricing strategies. The role includes gathering and analysing market information to develop market insights, as well as maintaining strong relationships with producers, buyers, traders, and silo personnel.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee grain trading operations to ensure profitable and efficient trading
- Manage logistics related to the execution and delivery of transactions
- Provide clients with guidance on hedging options and pricing strategies
- Collect, analyse, and interpret market data to develop and communicate market outlooks
- Maintain regular communication with producers, buyers, traders, and silo teams
- Handle customer enquiries and provide professional support
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of four years’ relevant experience in grain trading or a related environment
Preferred Qualifications & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of risk management and trading strategies
- Knowledge of Safex trading practices
