About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
YOUR strong problem-solving and system design capabilities are sought by a dynamic provider of Integrated Security Solutions seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Software Developer to work across Frontend & Backend systems. You must understand modern software architecture as you will take ownership of complex technical problems from initial investigation through to production. Modern software development is increasingly supported by AI thus you will be expected to understand how to effectively use AI-assisted development tools, coding agents and agentic workflows to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality, security and accountability. This role requires someone who can think beyond individual tickets, understand how systems fit together, challenge assumptions where necessary and contribute to the platform. You must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field with 5+ years of professional Software Development experience and proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Vue.js, C#, Python, Node.js, NoSQL, Docker & Kubernetes.
DUTIES:
- Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable and high-performance software applications.
- Solve complex technical and business problems and translate requirements into well-designed software solutions.
- Contribute to system design, architecture and technical decision-making.
- Take ownership of solutions from design and implementation through testing, deployment and production support.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable and efficient code using established Engineering principles and best practices.
- Understand and consider performance, scalability, reliability, observability and security when designing systems.
- Identify technical bottlenecks, architectural weaknesses and sources of technical debt, and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Conduct meaningful code reviews and contribute to Engineering standards across the team.
- Mentor and support less experienced Developers.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, QA and other stakeholders to design and deliver new capabilities.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and effectively to improve Engineering productivity.
- Understand agentic development workflows, including using AI coding agents for tasks such as code generation, investigation, refactoring, testing, documentation and development automation.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated code and solutions rather than relying on generated output without appropriate Engineering review.
- Participate in Agile development processes, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Remain current with relevant technologies, Engineering practices and changes within the Software Development industry.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is preferred. A Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
Experience/Skills –
- 5+ Years of professional Software Development experience, with demonstrated experience operating at a Senior Engineering level.
- Strong Software Engineering fundamentals, including object oriented or functional design, data structures, APIs, distributed systems and application architecture.
- Experience designing components, services or systems rather than only implementing predefined requirements.
- Proficiency in modern Frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or [URL Removed] with Backend languages and frameworks such as C#, Python, Node.js or comparable technologies.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Working knowledge of DevOps and modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and integrating REST APIs, third-party services and distributed systems.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS or Azure.
Advantageous –
- Understanding of AI coding agents, LLM-assisted development and agentic Software Engineering workflows.
- Experience using modern AI-assisted Software Development tools.
- GraphQL experience
- Understanding of asynchronous processing, messaging, caching and other common distributed system patterns.
