About the position
Senior Flood Engineer / Hydraulic Modeler is being sought by leading engineering consultancy to join their Cape Town / Johannesburg / or Durban office to work on projects across South Africa, Africa and the United Kingdom.
Requirements:
- Deep technical knowledge in hydraulic modelling, in particular applied for fluvial flood risk management.
- A strong hydrology background and realization.
- Knowledge in the use of HEC - RAS (1D, 1D/2D and 2D) or similar software.
- Extensive knowledge in the flooding sector within Africa.
- A relevant undergraduate degree, with a master's or equivalent experience.
- Professional registration with either ECSA or SACNASP, or other appropriate institution or willing to pursue professional registration.
- Knowledge in the use of GIS, pluvial flood risk management will be advantageous.
- Knowledge in Flood Modeller Pro, Tuflow, and other industry standard software will be advantageous but not compulsory.
