Senior Fire Engineer

About the position

Our client, a respected and long-standing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm, is seeking to appoint a Senior Fire Engineer to join their team in Pretoria. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead complex fire engineering projects, provide mentorship to junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's fire division.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of fire safety systems across commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects
• Conduct fire risk assessments, prepare fire strategy reports, and liaise with clients and approval authorities
• Ensure compliance with SANS codes and other relevant fire engineering standards
• Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and project teams
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technologists
• Contribute to business development and client relationship management

Minimum Requirements

• BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Professionally registered with ECSA (PrEng or PrTechEng)
• Minimum 6-8 years' experience in fire engineering within the consulting engineering environment
• Proficient in fire engineering software and design tools
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
