About the position
Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) in accordance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders. Budgeting and Forecasting Lead the budgeting process by coordinating with various departments to prepare accurate and comprehensive budgets.- Develop long-term financial forecasts and track actual performance against budgets.- Provide variance analysis, explaining deviations between budgeted and actual figures. Cost Control and Inventory Management Analyze costs and margins for products, manufacturing processes, and distribution.- Implement cost control measures and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.- Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accurate product costing and valuation of stock.- Ensure inventory levels are optimized by collaborating with procurement and operations teams. Compliance and Audit Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations.- Prepare for and manage external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is available.- Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies. Tax Planning and Management Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring timely submission and compliance with tax laws.- Monitor and manage tax liabilities, seeking tax-saving opportunities while maintaining compliance.- Liaise with tax authorities and external consultants as needed. Cash Flow and Working Capital Management Monitor the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.- Manage working capital effectively by optimizing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory.- Oversee treasury functions, including managing banking relationships and overseeing payment processes. Financial Systems and Process Improvement Use financial software (ERP systems) to enhance reporting accuracy and streamline accounting operations.- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency within the accounting department.- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for financial reporting and internal controls. Team Leadership and Development Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.- Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and conduct periodic reviews of team members.- Foster a collaborative working environment, ensuring effective communication within the finance team and with other departments. Risk Management and Internal Controls Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risk and ensure data integrity.- Review and update risk management strategies, addressing any emerging risks in the business environment.- Ensure protection of financial assets through regular audits, reconciliations, and compliance checks. Stakeholder Collaboration Act as a key financial advisor to senior management, providing insights on business performance, risks, and opportunities.- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, production, marketing) to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals.- Provide ad-hoc financial reports and data as requested by management, auditors, or other stakeholders. Compliance with Financial Regulations Ensure compliance with all financial regulations (e.g., corporate governance, SOX, financial disclosures).- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws, and implement necessary adjustments in the financial reporting process. ???????Assist with ad hoc duties not limited to the above as and when required. ???????JOB QUALIFICATIONS- ??????Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA) (preferred but not always mandatory).- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification (highly preferred).- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other relevant accounting certifications may also be beneficial. ???????JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS ???????1.Financial Reporting and Accounting:- 3-8 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably with at least 3-5 years in a senior accounting position.- Proven experience preparing and managing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.- Knowledge of cost accounting, specifically in product-based industries like FMCG, including inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS). 2.FMCG/Manufacturing Industry Exposure:- Prior experience in an FMCG, manufacturing, retail, or a similar high-volume, fast-paced environment.- Familiarity with inventory accounting, cost control, and understanding of supply chain dynamics- ???????Experience in dealing with large-scale transactions and high inventory turnover common in the FMCG sector. 3.Budgeting and Forecasting:- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.- Experience in developing and managing annual budgets and providing variance analysis on actual vs. budget performance. 4.Audit, Compliance, and Taxation:- Experience working with external auditors and managing internal audits.- Knowledge and experience in taxation (local, state, and international taxes) and ensuring tax compliance.- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and governance standards such as IFRS or GAAP. 5.Team Leadership:- Proven experience in leading and mentoring accounting teams.- Ability to manage staff performance, delegate tasks, and support the development of junior accountants. 6.ERP and Financial Systems:- Hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or other financial management systems.- Experience with implementing and improving financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. ???????Skills Needed: ???????1.Accounting Knowledge:- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and financial reporting standards.- Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial statement preparation. 2.ERP Systems & Financial Software:- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for managing accounting and financial data.- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling) for detailed financial analysis. 3.Taxation and Compliance:- Knowledge of tax regulations, including corporate, income, and sales taxes.- Ability to ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
