Senior Financial Accountant

About the position

Our client specializing in the Agricultural  /  Veterinarian
Industry, based in Cape Town's  Northern Suburbs is seeking to employ an experienced Senior Financial Accountant.

5 Years commercial experience, including leading a team secures this role.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in financial/management accounting.
• Driver’s license.
• Professional registration (full or part) would be useful but not required, for example SAIPA/ CIMA/ CA.
• Commercial experience – minimum 5 years including leading teams.
• Sage or similar accounting system experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of accountants and finance departments.
• Build relationships with internal sales and operations.
• Working Capital Management (Debtors, Creditors, Cash, Inventory).
• Assist with banking relations and manage an optimal financing environment.
• Final loading and approval of payments.
• Manage the external audits.
• Tax: (Corporate, VAT, Payroll).
• Ensure that all companies are tax compliant through timeous payments and submissions to the relevant authorities.
• Prepare and assist with group and company monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. This includes reporting to management, financiers, external service providers and wider staff on various finance and non-financial matters.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and complete fixed asset registers.
• Budgets.
• Lead the organisation in the preparation and presentation of the semi/annual budget and forecasting processes.
• Identify, maintain, and document the internal controls necessary to ensure accurate accounting and reduce financial risks.
• Cost saving initiatives.
• Identify and promote cost saving initiatives.
• Insurance.
• Funding.
