About the position
A rapidly expanding company is urgently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. This is an exceptional opportunity for a CA(SA) with a minimum of 8 years' financial reporting and management experience, including at least 5 years in the mining industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial mindset, be a proactive go-getter, and have a proven ability to lead and unite finance functions across multiple companies cohesively. Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring efficient resource allocation and project delivery.
- Preparing and interpreting annual financial statements, monthly management accounts, and project reports, ensuring full compliance with IFRS standards, financial regulations, and tax laws, including all taxation calculations.
- Proactively identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks, while also ensuring robust cash flow management to adequately fund all operations and projects.
- Developing and preparing comprehensive business plans for the company, contributing directly to strategic objectives.
- Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment, and providing crucial strategic financial insights and guidance to senior and executive management.
- Working closely with departments like operations, commercial, and engineering to achieve shared business goals.
Requirements:
- A CA(SA) designation from SAICA.
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in financial reporting and management, with at least 5 years specifically within the mining industry.
- Experience in both the mining and logistics sectors.
- Strong financial acumen, including deep expertise in accounting principles, financial regulations, taxation, and reporting standards.
- Proven leadership abilities to effectively lead and motivate a finance team.
