About the position

Our client, a leading FMCG entity, is seeking a skilled and dynamic Finance Manager to join their expanding team in Newcastle, KZN. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the financial success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage fixed asset management on site, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
  • Exercise cost control over operational expenses to optimize resource allocation.
  • Develop and monitor budgets to support business objectives.
  • Oversee bill of materials (BOM), product costing, and margin management processes.
  • Supervise the procurement of raw materials, including managing imports, forex, and customs clearance.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and present monthly management accounts, providing insights for decision-making.
  • Implement strategies for effective stock control of raw materials and finished goods, including managing returns and credits.
  • Conduct waste reporting and analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage logistics and warehousing costs, developing cost-to-serve models for efficiency.
  • Oversee pallet stock management and optimize related processes.
  • Ensure accurate processing of salaries and wages.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (BCom), Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-articles experience or 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems implementations to enhance financial processes.
  • Prior experience in the FMCG or Manufacturing sector is preferred.
