Senior Finance & Client Services Executive
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Finance & Client Relationship Manager to lead client engagement within their Client Services team. This role suits a seasoned financial services professional who takes ownership of a client portfolio, drives strategic relationships, and operates confidently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate will also provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to process and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of a portfolio of key client accounts, acting as the primary point of escalation and strategic contact.
- Cultivate and grow senior-level client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value and strengthen retention.
- Oversee resolution of complex client queries and system-related issues, escalating and managing risk where required.
- Review and approve client ledger administration, ensuring facility limits, records, and account data are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
- Lead the preparation, motivation, and submission of facility increase requests, credit applications, and client submissions to the Credit Department, including recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Partner with Credit Controllers and senior stakeholders to proactively resolve issues relating to debtor books and funding facilities.
- Monitor client performance and portfolio risk, ensuring ongoing compliance with company policy, and flagging concerns before they escalate.
- Maintain robust governance over records and documentation, supporting audit and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and leadership to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior Client Services staff.
- Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines across a demanding portfolio with minimal supervision.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) essential.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Business Management or a related field required (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
- 4–7 years' experience in banking, financial services, lending, factoring, or a similar financial environment, with a track record of managing client portfolios.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to interpret and act on complex financial information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational, administrative, and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven track record of building and managing senior client relationships and driving portfolio growth.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior staff advantageous.
