A well-known and established spices and meat processing and food packaging manufacturing company requires the above to manage and grow key customer accounts strategically both locally and in Africa, developing long-term commercial partnerships, and driving profitable sales growth across global food industry markets to deliver sustainable business growth.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A tertiary qualification in a related field is preferred for this role.
- Previous sales experience, having strategically managed major key accounts both locally and internationally within the packaging and or food industry, is preferred for the role.
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent sales and negotiation skills and must have strategic thinking and planning abilities.
- Demonstrates resilience, proactive problem-solving, and a passion for delivering customer value and sustainable packaging solutions.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and growing key customer accounts strategically both locally and in Africa, developing long-term commercial partnerships, and driving profitable sales growth across global food industry markets to deliver sustainable business growth.
- Building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with key clients.
- Developing and implementing account plans to achieve sales targets, identifying new opportunities, and driving revenue growth.
- Regularly assessing client needs, understanding their business objectives, and providing tailored solutions.
- Acting as the main point of contact between the client and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities to expand existing accounts and generate new business.
- Addressing client concerns, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Tracking account performance, preparing reports, and providing insights to internal stakeholders.
- Managing contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Understanding customer business models, product requirements, and growth objectives.
- Driving revenue growth and profitability across assigned international accounts.
