About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer (SASE – L2) with deep expertise in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), networking, and security solutions.  As a Senior Engineer (SASE – L2)  you'll be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing SASE solutions for clients to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable connectivity for users, applications, and devices. This role combines expertise in networking and security, focusing on cloud-dlivered technologies that unify network and security functions, including SD-WAN, DLP, CASB, ZTNA, NGFW and SWG.


 

What you’ll do:



  • Design and implementation

    • Architect and implement SASE solutions that align with organizational goals.

    • Architect and implement SASE solutions for Proof of Concepts, and new clients.

    • Configure and deploy components like SD- WAN, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

    • Integrate SASE solutions with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless interoperability.



  • Operations and management

    • Manage and maintain SASE platforms, ensuring optimal performance and security.

    • Monitor and analyze SASE performance metrics, making adjustments as needed to meet SLAs.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SASE infrastructure.



  • Security and compliance

    • Enforce security policies across SASE components to protect data and applications.

    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the SASE environment.

    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.



  • Collaboration and training

    • Work with cross-functional teams to support business and technical objectives.

    • Provide training and support to IT staff and end- users on SASE technologies.



  • Innovation and optimization

    • Stay current with emerging SASE trends and

    • technologies, recommending improvements.

    • Evaluate and implement new features or updates to enhance the SASE framework.




Your expertise:



  • 3–5+ years of experience in networking, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.

  • Proven experience with SASE components, such as SD-WAN, ZTNA, CASB, DLP, or SWG.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS security is a plus.


Skills and competencies:



  • In-Depth IT Security Knowledge: Deep understanding of networking protocols and architectures (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, BGP). Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts like Zero Trust, VPNs, and firewalls.

  • Incident Management: Ability to handle various stages of incident response (triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis).

  • Compliance: Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance standards.

  • Tools Proficiency: Experience using security tools such as:

    • Zscaler

    • Fortinet



  • Programming and Scripting Expertise: Basic proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate security tasks and analyse logs. Proficient in regular expression and have the ability to build queries.

  • Report Writing: Ability to clearly and concisely document incidents, procedures, and technical investigations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualifications required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Certifications (preferred):

    • SASE-related certifications, such as, Zscaler Certified Engineer, or Fortigate SD-WAN certifications.

    • General cybersecurity certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
