Position: O&M Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer/ Plant Maintenance Engineer
Location: West Africa
Contract Type: Fixed-term / Project-based (1 year, possible renewable)

A global energy technology company is seeking an experienced O&M Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its operations and maintenance team at a major power generation plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of all electrical systems, supporting preventive and corrective maintenance, and leading a multicultural technical team on site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 4–6 years’ experience in power plant commissioning, operation, or maintenance, preferably in gas or combined cycle environments
- Proven experience in electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, and control systems
- Familiarity with Siemens, GE, or Mitsubishi plant technologies an advantage
- Working knowledge of SPPA-M3000, PCS7, or equivalent DCS systems
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a multicultural team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication in English (French or Portuguese advantageous)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment across the power plant
- Develop, implement, and update maintenance plans, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with OEM standards
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate resolution of technical faults
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Utilize the plant management system (SPPA-M3000 or equivalent) for reporting, work orders, and performance monitoring
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, promoting knowledge transfer and skills development
- Liaise with cross-functional and international teams, including Engineering and HQ support functions
