Strong collaboration with the teams to understand the software requirements to design and implement different environments and DevOps solutions.
Design, implement and maintain the orchestration platform, considering scalability.
Eliminate waste by automating relevant tasks throughout the software development lifecycle.
Manage CI/CD pipelines and perform any configuration management.
Implement and manage, monitor and log.
Close collaboration with the Product and Program teams to resolve both non-production and production issues.
Manage all activities and checklists for releases.
Troubleshooting environment issues and limiting downtime through proactive monitoring.
Define and implement DevOps culture within the team and be an ambassador for DevOps culture.
Define and maintain documentation for knowledge sharing purposes and to eliminate key man dependencies.
Reduce costs by continuously monitoring the environment and identifying areas where costs can be saved.
Embed security controls in the software development life cycle.
Defining and establishing test, development, release, update, and support processes for the organisation’s DevOps operations.
Enhance the IT infrastructure’s security protocols by identifying and deploying needed cybersecurity measures by continuously conducting vulnerability assessment and risk management procedures.
Understanding customer requirements, monitoring, and measuring customer experience and their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Managing stakeholders and associated external interfaces.
Managing periodic reporting on project progress to the management, stakeholders, and customers.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
Financial Sector candidates will be the first choice.
Knowledge:
Working experience in building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI&CD) pipelines.
Experience in designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat OpenShift clusters and CP4i.
Linux experience is a must.
A working knowledge of various tools and open-source technologies.
A good knowledge of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
Extensive experience in GitLab, GitHub, OpenShift, ArgoCD, Kibana, Grafana, SAST, DAST, SonarQube, 3scales, Kafka, JFrog.
Experience implementing Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools (such as AppDynamics, New Relic, or similar) to monitor application performance metrics, including response times, throughput, and resource utilisation.
Experience supporting databases and pipeline platforms, Informatica IICS & TeraData, Oracle, Postgres.
Bash scripting and Ansible automation.
A solid understanding of configuring and managing databases.
A problem-solving mindset.
A spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills are necessary for dealing with management, stakeholders, and clients.

Source code management: GitLab/GitHub.
Developing CI/CD pipelines: CI/CD processes rely on specialised tools for automation, including Jenkins, GitLab, and ArgoCD.
Testing: DevOps engineers use tools such as Selenium to help them ascertain how their application turned out and to check for errors.
Containerization: This task needs specific tools to build and configure containers that allow the software to work across different environments. These tools include OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes.
Configuration management: Tools include Puppet and Chef.
Monitoring: Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Prometheus help the engineer screen the app and ensure it works as intended.
