About the position
This is a remote position.
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead and deliver complex data solutions using ETL, Azure Synapse, SQL, Stored Procedures, Data Factory, and Spark. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership in design and architecture, and the ability to mentor junior team members while ensuring delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and extension of enterprise data models for analytics and reporting.
- Architect and implement robust ETL pipelines with strict adherence to business and technical rules.
- Build scalable, reusable data engineering components for organisation-wide use.
- Own and enforce SDLC processes, testing standards, and release management alignment.
- Produce and review high-quality design documentation for approval by the Design Authority.
- Ensure solutions comply with Enterprise Architecture standards.
- Drive KT, hypercare, and PGLS processes for all delivered work.
- Oversee after-hours and weekend deployments, providing advanced troubleshooting support.
- Provide technical mentorship to intermediate and junior engineers.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in senior or lead data engineering roles.
- Expert-level skills in ETL, Azure Synapse, SQL, Stored Procedures, Data Factory, and Spark.
- Strong leadership in solution design, architecture, and standards enforcement.
- Proven track record in delivering complex enterprise data solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of data modelling, performance tuning, and optimisation.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the CCBA environment and solutions will be highly beneficial.
