About the position
An established management firm specializing in online media, digital marketing, and e-commerce solutions with over two decades of experience is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who will bridge the gap between raw data and strategic execution. You will partner with business leaders to define metrics, build analytical narratives, and deliver the trusted dashboards that drive our business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business leads to define problems, test hypotheses, and establish success metrics.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into technical requirements and measurable KPIs.
- Lead workshops to align cross-functional teams on standardized data definitions.
- Execute exploratory, trend, funnel, and cohort/retention analyses to identify root causes.
- Apply statistical methods (correlation, hypothesis testing, forecasting) to validate business assumptions.
- Design and interpret A/B tests, including sample sizing and outcome measurement.
- Develop high-impact Power BI dashboards and KPI packs aligned with business cadences.
- Translate complex data into "What, Why, and What’s Next" narratives for executive consumption.
- Partner with BI/Engineering to build well-documented semantic models that enable self-service analytics.
- Perform rigorous QA and reconciliation to identify anomalies and ensure "source of truth" reliability.
- Contribute to the enterprise metric catalog and data dictionary.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve data lineage, source quality, and reliability.
- Mentor junior analysts in technical best practices (SQL, DAX, Power BI) and the art of storytelling.
- Define and enforce analytical standards, including peer review processes and QA checklists.
- Cultivate a company-wide culture of evidence-based decision-making.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 5–10+ years in Analytics or BI, with a track record of delivering high-impact insights in high-volume or regulated environments.
- Advanced SQL: Expert-level proficiency in window functions, CTEs, and performance-aware querying.
- Power BI Mastery: Deep expertise in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and modern visual design standards.
- Strategic Analytics: Strong grasp of dimensional modeling, KPI governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, frame complex problems, and influence stakeholders through compelling data storytelling.
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Expert use of Power BI (Reports, Dashboards, Pipelines) and Excel (Advanced).
- Data Architecture: Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse, Direct Lake semantic models) and SQL Server/Azure SQL/Synapse.
- Certifications (Advantageous)
- PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
- DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (highly valued for semantic modeling and governance).
