About the position
A well-established company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their Finance Team in Modderfontein.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification in Credit Management, Bookkeeping, Finance, or related field
- 5 – 10 years’ experience in a Credit Control role
- Strong understanding of South African financial legislation and credit control processes
- Experience working with accounting systems (SAP)
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage allocated debtor’s book to ensure timely collection of outstanding amounts
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support effective debt recovery
- Manage advance payment (COD) and credit customers
- Issue and follow up on statements, invoices and account queries
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with refund requisitions and related finance processes
- Support credit application assessments and credit risk management
- Liaise with Finance and Legal departments on escalated collections
- Ensure all supporting documentation (PODs, POs, invoices) complies with customer requirements
- Update internal systems with accurate collection progress and status notes
- Drive reduction of overdue debtors and improve cash flow performance
