Senior Credit Controller: Finance

About the position

Description / Synopsis
Our client is a leading multinational manufacturing and FMCG company, based in Johannesburg Industria. They have an opportunity available for a Senior Credit Controller to join their Finance Shared Services team.

This role will be responsible for maximising revenue, ensuring effective credit risk mitigation, and maintaining outstanding customer and stakeholder relationships. Strong technical acumen with hands-on credit management experience required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Finance or ICMSA Certified Credit Management
• 3 - 5 years in a senior credit control role, in the FMCG or manufacturing sector
• Experience with credit management for chain stores, distributors, wholesalers and retailers
• Advanced capability in open item and balance brought forward reconciliations
• Syspro experience essential
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)

 

Responsibilities

• Assess and vet new/existing customers for credit and financial risk
• Ensure timeous collection of outstanding payments and reduction of overdue balances
• Prepare and monitor daily age analysis, apply and allocate payments, process credit notes
• Conduct daily credit exposure reviews and manage suspended orders/escalations
• Maintain high standards of Customer Master Data (CMD) integrity
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and support cross-functional finance initiatives
• Build and maintain effective relationships with all Business Units, Call Centre, and Depots
• Analysis of Financial statements and Credit Bureau reports
