Senior Cost Accountant

About the position

• JOB DUTIES:
• Developing and implementing cost standards for BOM materials and labour
• Monitoring unit cost variance Implementing cost accounting systems
• Analysing production costs and recommending changes
• Analysing manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization
• Performing month-end cost accounting close
• Maintaining financial & cost accounting system and ledger
• Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock
• Performing life cycle cost-benefit analysis
• Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports
• Perform annual physical inventory
• Analysing inventory valuations
• Prepare financial management report
• Participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of standard work processes.
• Maintains and ensures data accuracy in the ERP system through proper item set-up, manufacturing
• accounting review and issue resolution.
• Training and supervising cost and inventory accounting staff
• Supervision of bookkeeper
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Creditors and Debtors functions, including
• Processing of invoices
• Reconciliation of creditors accounts to statements
• Preparation and payment of creditors
• Manage intercompany transactions, including
  Processing of invoices
• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Cost &
  Management Accounting
• Minimum 5 years'
  Experience as a cost
  accountant or in a
  similar position.
• Deep knowledge of
  standard costing and
  other cost modelling
• Knowledge in SAP
  Proficiency in Microsoft
  Office, Word, Excel, PPT
• Excellent
  communication skills,
  both written and verbal.
• Strong critical thinking
  skills.
• Strong planning and
  organizational skills.
• Ability to work
  independently
