Senior Civil Engineer - Energy

About the position

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership within their Energy division. This strategic role is suited to a recognised civil engineering expert who has extensive experience delivering large-scale energy and infrastructure projects and is passionate about driving technical excellence, mentoring engineering teams, and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the civil engineering technical authority on major energy projects.
• Lead the development and implementation of civil engineering design strategies and standards.
• Provide technical governance, design assurance, and expert engineering reviews.
• Support complex technical decision-making and resolve high-risk engineering challenges.
• Contribute to project delivery across local and international multidisciplinary teams.
• Build strong client relationships and provide trusted technical advice.
• Support business development through bid preparation and technical proposals.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to succession planning within the discipline.
• Promote excellence in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance across all projects.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
• Extensive experience on large-scale energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and strategic engineering capability.
• Strong commercial awareness and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across international projects.
