About the position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (BA) to join our dynamic team within the retail sector. The BA will play a critical role in identifying business needs, analysing requirements, and proposing solutions that deliver measurable value across the end-to-end retail value chain, including procurement, inventory management, merchandising, store operations, and customer engagement. This role bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring successful delivery of business solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements across the retail value chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement solutions.
- Support the development and execution of project plans aligned with business goals.
- Perform gap analysis and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Define and document current and future state processes using appropriate tools.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and design sessions with business stakeholders.
- Support testing and validation of solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Create and maintain clear documentation such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, and process maps.
Qualifications:
- Matric and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) preferred.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 6–8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the retail sector.
- Proven experience across the retail value chain, including buying, planning, warehousing, store operations, POS, eCommerce, and customer service.
- Deep expertise in Supply Chain and Warehouse Management, including inventory management, inbound/outbound operations, order management, receiving, picking, dispatch, pack changes, master data management, and reporting.
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project environments.
- Strong track record supporting retail systems implementations (ERP, WMS, CRM, OMS).
