About the position

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Employment Type: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Bookkeeper to join a dynamic and fast-growing finance team based in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a meticulous and proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience managing end-to-end bookkeeping functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting cycles, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Requirements

  • BCom Degree or relevant financial qualification
  • 5–10 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Experience in retail or manufacturing environments 
  • Strong experience with SAP (essential)
  • Exposure to Shopify 
  • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bank accounts, including daily statements and reconciliations
  • Oversee store cash-ups and ensure accurate reconciliation across multiple branches
  • Process debit orders and ensure accurate postings
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reporting
  • Maintain and reconcile control accounts (e.g., credit cards, fleet, insurance)
  • Manage supplier invoices, imports, and payments
  • Process payroll-related payments (wages, salaries, statutory payments)
  • Handle client refunds and ensure accurate processing
  • Maintain financial records on systems such as SAP
  • Prepare financial reports and support management reporting
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with financial procedures
