Senior Bookkeeper (Green Point, Cape Town)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

A highly meticulous Senior Bookkeeper with experience in the full Bookkeeping function is wanted by a well-established company in Green Point, Cape Town. Your responsibilities will include PAYE & VAT submissions, bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements. The successful incumbent will possess a suitable tertiary qualification in Bookkeeping with 5-7 years’ work experience in a similar role including a solid understanding of PAYE, VAT returns and general Bookkeeping practices and strong Excel proficiency. Parking will be provided, and seasonal working hours may apply depending on Production schedules.

DUTIES:

• Full Bookkeeping function.
• General payments and supplier transactions.
• PAYE and VAT submissions.
• Bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with month-end processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A qualification in Bookkeeping.
• 5 – 7 Years with the full Bookkeeping function.
• Proficiency in Pastel Accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Solid understanding of PAYE, VAT returns and general Bookkeeping practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in the Production or Creative industry will be advantageous.
